How to convert HEIC to PDF
- Add your photos. Drag HEIC or HEIF photos into the box above, or click "Choose Files". Several photos become one PDF, in the order shown in the list.
- Wait for the conversion. Each photo is decoded in your browser, saved as a JPG at quality 90, and placed on its own PDF page. Nothing is sent to a server.
- Download the PDF. Click "Download PDF" for a single photo. For several photos, click "Download merged PDF", or download each PDF separately or as a ZIP.
When a PDF is better than a photo
Many forms, schools, employers, and government portals accept documents only as PDF. If you photographed a receipt, a signed form, or an ID page with an iPhone, the photo is usually saved as HEIC, a format that some upload forms reject. Converting HEIC to PDF gives you a file those forms accept.
A PDF also keeps several photos together. Photograph each page of a contract or a multi-page certificate, select all the photos at once, and send a single PDF instead of a dozen separate images.
How photos are combined into one PDF
When you select more than one photo, heicly creates one PDF by default: each photo becomes one page, in the order shown in the list on this page. That list follows the order in which your browser passes on the selected files. There is no drag-to-reorder feature, so check the list before downloading.

The merged PDF is built from the photos that have finished when you click. If a photo fails, the others are still included and you can retry the failed one; click "Download merged PDF" again afterwards to get a PDF that includes it.
What's inside the PDF
Each page holds one image. heicly does not rebuild the photo as text or vector graphics; it stores a JPG copy of the photo inside the PDF.

Very large photos may be resized proportionally to fit your browser's processing limits before they are placed in the PDF. The page shows a resized notice when this happens.
PDF or JPG?
Choose PDF when a form asks for a document, when you need several photos in one file, or when the recipient will print it. Choose JPG when you want to edit the photo, post it, or upload it to a site that asks for images; the HEIC to JPG converter keeps each photo as a separate image and lets you adjust quality for a single photo.
- PDF: one file for many pages, accepted by document upload forms, opens in common PDF readers.
- JPG: one file per photo, accepted by image upload forms and photo apps.
- Both: keep the HEIC original if you need full quality or the original metadata.
Your photos stay on your device
Decoding the HEIC file, creating the JPG, and assembling the PDF all happen in your browser. The converter does not send your photos to a server. The site and its analytics services still make network requests; local photo processing does not mean the website makes no connections.

HEIC to PDF questions
Can I change the order of pages in the merged PDF?
There is no reorder feature. Pages follow the order shown in the list, which is the order in which your browser passes on the selected files. If the order matters, give the photos names that sort in the order you want, select them, and check the list before downloading.
Can I get A4 pages with white margins?
No. Each page has the same proportions as its photo, with the long side at 842 pt (the long side of A4), and the photo fills the page without margins or cropping. If you print it, use the scaling options in your print dialog.
Can I search or copy text in the PDF?
No. heicly does not run text recognition (OCR). Each page is a photo, so any text in it stays part of the image.
Is the PDF created on a server?
No. The PDF is assembled in your browser from the converted JPG images. Your photos are not uploaded to create it.
How many photos can I combine into one PDF?
There is no fixed page limit. The merged PDF is assembled in your browser memory, so very large batches can fail on devices with little memory. For long documents, combine the photos in smaller groups.
Does the PDF contain my file name or photo location?
The PDF metadata contains only the producer name "heicly": no file name, author, or date. The photo's EXIF data, such as location, is not copied into the PDF. For a single photo, the downloaded file is named after the original photo, so rename it before sharing if needed.
Before you send the PDF
Open the PDF and check the page order, orientation, and readability of any text. Upload portals often limit file size; a PDF of many full-resolution photos can be large, so send fewer pages per file if the portal rejects it.
